PhD Positions in Probabilistic and Differential Programming at Utrecht University

PhD positions in probabilistic and differential programming at Utrecht University’s FoRECAST project.

We are seeking strong PhD candidates in probabilistic and differential programming for the ERC Starting Grant project ‘Formalised Reasoning about Expectations: Composable, Automated, Speedy, Trustworthy’ (FoRECAST) at Utrecht University.

Two PhD positions are available: one in probabilistic and differential algorithms and another in implementation of systems for differential and probabilistic programming.

A third PhD position in semantic foundations of probabilistic and differentiable programming is also available.

Starting dates are flexible, but ideally before 1 September 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis without a fixed deadline. However, to ensure the positions are still open, please apply before 21 April.

Contact Matthijs Vákár (m.i.l.vakar at uu.nl) for more information about the project.
