PhD Scholarship in Computational History and Cultural Anthropology

The Hansen Foundation is offering a doctoral scholarship in (Computational) History / Cultural Anthropology / Ecology / Geography at the University of Passau. The project focuses on correlations between cultural and landscape factors in the Šumava region.
Key aspects of the project include:
- Systematic processing of the Atlas of German Folklore materials for Bavaria.
- Analysis of 450,000 data records for 1,820 places.
- Development of ‘Big Data source criticism’.
Requirements include a strong background in relevant fields and skills in data analysis. The scholarship provides €1,400 per month (tax-free) for two years.
