Registration is now open for the PLIN Linguistic Day 2025, taking place on 18 April 2025 in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. This event focuses on genre-based approaches to academic and specialized languages, from analysis to pedagogy.
The programme features four keynote lectures and poster presentations, including:
- Bethany Gray (Iowa State University): Genre and register studies: Introduction, key characteristics, and their applications to academic and specialized language varieties
- Charlene Polio (Michigan State University): Promoting genre awareness with diverse student groups
- Mable Chan (Hong Kong Polytechnic University): Genre based approaches to the teaching and learning of persuasive business discourse
- Serge Sharoff (University of Leeds): On automatic genre classification: Why linguists have job security
