Postdoc Opportunity in Efficient Deep Neural Network Training at University of Edinburgh
The University of Edinburgh’s School of Informatics invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the field of efficient deep neural network training. The successful candidate will join the Visual Computing Group, supervised by Dr. Hakan Bilen, and collaborate with researchers across the School and with universities in Oxford and Bristol. The project aims to develop novel techniques to train deep neural networks efficiently, focusing on data generation, informative sampling, and data-efficient architectures for various vision models and vision-language models.
The School of Informatics is ranked #1 in the UK for research power in Computer Science and Informatics and is a top European institution for AI. Edinburgh, an attractive city to live in, was ranked 1st in the 2022 Time-Out Index of the best cities in the world. This full-time, 12-month position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment and collaborate with leading experts in machine learning and computer vision.
To be considered, applicants must hold a PhD (or be near completion), have a strong background in machine learning and/or computer vision, publications at top venues, excellent programming skills in Python, PyTorch, or Tensorflow, and the ability to work independently and manage research activities. Applicants should email Dr. Hakan Bilen at h.bilen@ed.ac.uk for enquiries and apply before May 14, 2024, through the provided link.
