The Machine Learning Genoa Center (MaLGa) at the University of Genoa offers a stimulating international environment for advanced research across various aspects of machine learning, from theory to applications. Located in the beautiful Genova on the Ligurian Riviera, our center combines high-quality academic pursuits with the rich cultural and scenic offerings of the region. Today the center hosts 14 faculties and more than 40 PhD students and postdocs. We invite candidates to send an expression of interest before the 3rd of January 2025. We are looking for candidates for a full-time PostDoc position of duration 1 year, renewable, at the Machine Learning Genoa Center (MaLGa) at the University of Genoa. The position is focused on designing and developing video-based methods for constructing hierarchical representations of human actions and activities. The challenges to be addressed include action recognition, activity analysis, and the prediction or anticipation of intentions. Potential application domains include robotics and rehabilitation, where model efficiency and interpretability are critical advantages.
