Research Fellowship in Macroeconomic Modeling using Machine Learning and Simulation Techniques at the University of Macerata
The Department of Economics and Law at the University of Macerata is inviting applications for a Research Fellowship in macroeconomic modeling using machine learning and simulation techniques. The fellowship is part of the ‘CASIECO – CAlibrazione e SImulazione di un modello macroECOnomico di grandi dimensioni’ project, financed within the framework of the cascade call for fundamental research activities issued by Spoke 7 – EDGE-EXASCALE AI (Politecnico di Torino) within the ‘FAIR – Future Artificial Intelligence Research’ programme.
The successful applicant will be responsible for extending an agent-based model of the Italian macroeconomic system, with parameters on individual and/or category agent behavior calibrated using Machine Learning (ML) techniques. The research fellow will work on the theoretical definition of behavioral rules, program the behavioral rules and ML within the model, and evaluate the outputs of the simulations.
The position is temporary for 15 months, full-time, and the expected start date will be provided post-selection process. The annual gross salary is €23,867.05. The deadline for applications is 02/06/2024, 1:00 PM.
