RSS 2024 Workshop on Semantic Reasoning and Goal Understanding in Robotics (SemRob)
We are delighted to announce the Call for Papers for the 1st Workshop on Semantic Reasoning and Goal Understanding in Robotics (SemRob), which will be held at the 20th Robotics Science and Systems (RSS 2024) conference in Delft, Netherlands, on 19 July 2024. SemRob aims to bring together robotics researchers, engineers, and practitioners from different communities to enable interdisciplinary research on methods that could facilitate the deployment of semantics-aware and generalizable embodied agents in unstructured and dynamic real-world environments.
The workshop is interested in sponsoring discussion of new hybrid methodologies that combine representations from robotics foundation models with modeling mechanisms such as neural memory mechanisms, cognitive architectures, neuro-symbolic representations, meta-cognitive reasoning structures, robot skill primitives, and 3D world representations. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) learning semantically-rich and generalizable robot state representations, learning general goal representations, reasoning mechanisms for generalization in open-vocabulary contexts, leveraging foundation models for robotics tasks, and combining foundation models with AI reasoning structures.
Paper submissions should follow the official RSS 2024 LaTeX or Word templates and can be up to 4+N or 8+N pages long. The paper submission deadline is 3 June 2024, 23:59 AOE, and the workshop will take place on 19 July 2024. For more information, visit the workshop website or contact the organizers at semrob.workshop@gmail.com.
