Seize the Opportunity: Pursue a PhD in NLP Applied to Biology and Food Science!
A rare and exciting PhD position is available at MaIAGE-Bibliome, a transdisciplinary research lab affiliated with INRAE and University Paris-Saclay. This position is part of the FAIROmics doctoral network, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action, which aims to leverage AI techniques to enhance our understanding of fermented food.
The successful candidate will work on the design of information extraction tools to characterize molecules produced or degraded by microbes in plant-fermented food ecosystems. This role involves a twelve-month secondment at the Applied AI Research Group at the University of Szeged (Hungary), where the candidate will be awarded a PhD diploma alongside the one from MaIAGE-Bibliome.
The ideal candidate should possess:
* A Master’s degree in Computer Science with a solid background in NLP, AI, and/or ML
* Experience in deep learning approaches for NLP
* Programming skills in Python
* Excellent English skills (both writing and speaking)
* A keen interest in biology, bioinformatics, and food science
