Sixth Workshop on Teaching NLP at ACL 2024: Call for Papers
The Sixth Workshop on Teaching NLP will be held in Bangkok, Thailand on August 15, 2024, in conjunction with the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics. The workshop aims to bring together the communities of NLP research and education to facilitate active discussion on questions related to NLP education. This includes topics such as facilitating meaningful conversations about language among Computer Science students, including user-centered design in core NLP curricula, equipping students with the ability to advance responsible and ethical NLP, and sharing tools and resources for NLP education.
The workshop welcomes two submission types: teaching materials and papers. Teaching materials submissions should describe curricula, course GitHub repositories, Jupyter notebooks, slides, homework, and assignments, and will be presented in posters or demos. Papers should discuss pedagogical aspects of NLP, focusing on topics such as tools and methodologies, scaling curricula, teaching online NLP courses, and incorporating ethics in NLP courses. All submissions will be processed through OpenReview.
