Special Issue on Recommender Systems for Good: Call for Papers
A special issue on Recommender Systems for Good has been announced by ACM Transactions on Recommender Systems (TORS). The issue aims to collect the latest research on recommender systems that have a positive societal impact and help address urgent societal challenges. The submission deadline is 1 September 2024.
The guest editors for this special issue are Marko Tkalčič, Noemi Mauro, Alan Said, Nava Tintarev, and Antonela Tommasel. They are looking for technical research papers, survey papers, and opinion/reflective papers that address one or more of the following topics:
- Recommender systems for safety, security, and privacy
- Recommender systems that protect the environment and ecosystems
- Recommender systems that give control of data back to the users
- Recommender systems for the interconnected society
- Accountability in recommender systems
- Recommender systems for the public good
- Introspective studies on the current state of RSs concerning societal good
- Fairness-preserving and fairness-enhancing recommender systems
- Responsible recommendation
- Sustainability and Cultural recommendations
- Recommendations to support disadvantaged groups
- Recommender systems for personal development and well-being
