AbjadNLP 2025 is a workshop focused on advancing Natural Language Processing (NLP) for languages that use the Arabic script. The workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to explore the unique linguistic structures, resources, challenges, and untapped potential of Abjad and Ajami languages. The workshop is co-located with the COLING 2025 conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The workshop is proud to highlight its connections with the Masakhane NLP community and collaborations with institutions worldwide, such as COMSATS on Urdu and the UCREL NLP Group at Lancaster University, whose work encompasses over 20 languages worldwide, including Abjad and Ajami languages.
The workshop welcomes contributions, discussions, and explorations on topics including, but not limited to, enabling core technologies, applications, resources, orthography descriptions, advancements in font technology, text input methodologies, development and utilisation of exploitable dictionaries, enhancements in spell-checking support, advancements in speech-to-text solutions, and progressive natural language processing techniques.
Submissions may be of two types: long papers (up to eight pages) and short papers (up to four pages). All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process, emphasizing originality, relevance, and clarity.
