Title: Postdoctoral Position in Quantitative Text Analysis: Inferring Cognitive Maps from Interview Data

Description:

University College Dublin invites applications for a two-year fully funded postdoctoral position in the field of quantitative text analysis, with a focus on developing tools to infer cognitive maps from interview data. The successful candidate will work alongside Dr. Stephanie Dornschneider-Elkink to analyze interview data from a research project investigating the role of women in Muslim resistance movements. The primary objective is to create new tools for converting text into cognitive maps, utilizing techniques such as POS tagging, sequence analysis, word embeddings, and visualization. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute significantly to the research objectives and co-author publications with the PI.

Cognitive mapping analysis aims to identify typical behavioral decisions and common reasoning processes related to these decisions, as well as tracing the role of religious beliefs in these processes. The research will be conducted in the School of Politics and International Relations at University College Dublin, with a start date of 1st September, 2024. Applications must be submitted by noon on 12th May, 2024. For more details and to apply, please visit the provided link.
