Unleashing the Power of EEG Emotion Recognition: Join the ACII’24 Workshop!

Get ready for the first-ever workshop on Generalizability of Emotion Recognition from EEG Signals (EmoRec EEG) at ACII’24, where we aim to enhance the comparability and generalizability of EEG emotion recognition approaches. This exciting event invites submissions in two engaging tracks:

  1. Challenge Track: Dive into one of two well-defined EEG emotion recognition tasks, with an opportunity to submit full or short papers. The top three approaches in each track will receive certificates! Choose from:

    1. Person-dependent task: Develop models trained and tested on a specific participant’s data, evaluated on six major EEG emotion recognition datasets.

    2. Person-independent task: Create approaches that generalize across users, with train/test splits provided for four popular EEG emotion recognition datasets.

  2. Reflection Track: Engage in discussions about the problem of EEG emotion recognition generalizability. Submit technical or position papers focusing on generating new insights rather than improving performance on evaluation datasets. Possible topics include evaluation protocols, data recording protocols, emotion elicitation techniques, EEG hardware considerations, and publishing bias.

Mark your calendars for these important dates:

  • Submission Deadline: June 12, 2024
  • Notification: July 14, 2024
  • Workshop Day: September 15, 2024
