Upcoming Webinar: Speech Neuroprostheses by Christian Herff

Join the next webinar on Speech Neuroprostheses by Dr. Christian Herff from Maastricht University, organized by HiTZ Chair of AI&LT.

Dear Colleague,

We are pleased to announce the next webinar in the Language Technology series organized by the HiTZ Chair of AI&LT. The webinar will feature Dr. Christian Herff from Maastricht University, discussing Speech Neuroprostheses based on Intracranial EEG.

Details:

  • Speaker: Christian Herff (Maastricht University)
  • Title: Speech Neuroprostheses based on Intracranial EEG
  • Date: Thursday, March 6, 2025 – 15:00 CET

Summary: Dr. Herff will present approaches to reconstruct different representations of speech from intracranial recordings, highlighting how these can be used to build a speech neuroprosthesis. The decoding of speech processes is particularly challenging due to the complex, nonlinear dynamics of both neural and target signals. He will emphasize the use of interpretable machine learning models to ensure meaningful activity is decoded and scientific insights are generated.

Upcoming Webinars:

  • Emanuele Bugliarello (Thursday, April 3, 2025)
  • AndrĂ© F. T. Martins (Thursday, May 8, 2025)
  • Mirella Lapata (Thursday, June 5, 2025)

If you are interested in participating, please complete the registration form. If you cannot attend but would like to be informed of future webinars, please complete the registration form.

Best wishes,
HiTZ Zentroa

P.S: HiTZ will not grant any type of certificate for attendance at these webinars.
