Workshop on Machine Learning for Earth Observation Data Analysis

A workshop titled MACLEAN: MAChine Learning for EArth ObservatioN is being organized in September 2024. The workshop aims to bring together machine learning researchers and domain experts to exchange ideas and discuss research objectives related to the exploitation and analysis of Earth Observation (EO) data using machine learning techniques.

The workshop will cover various topics including supervised classification of multi(hyper)-spectral data, unsupervised analysis of EO data, deep learning approaches for EO data, and interpretability and explainability of machine learning methods in the context of EO data analysis. Invited speakers include Matthieu Molinier from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Giuseppina Andresini & Annalisa Appice from Università di Bari, Italy.

Researchers are invited to submit original contributions, either theoretical or empirical, describing ongoing projects or completed work. Contributions can be of two types: short position papers (up to 6 pages) or full research papers (up to 10 pages). The deadline for paper submission is June 15, 2024. Accepted contributions will be made available electronically through the Workshop web page and post-proceedings will be published at the CCIS (Communications in Computer and Information Science) series.
