๐ฉ๐ช HIPE 2026 Shared Task on Person-Place Relation Extraction

Participate in HIPE 2026 shared task to extract person-place relations from historical texts. Registration open until 23 April 2026.
The HIPE 2026 shared task invites participation in the extraction of personโplace relations in multilingual historical documents. The task aims to build systems capable of determining whether a relation holds between a person and a location mentioned in a document and classify its temporal scope.
Key aspects of the task include:
- Determining whether a person is at a location within a document’s temporal horizon (isAt relation)
- Determining if a person was at a location at some earlier moment in their life (At relation)
- Classifying personโlocation relations with varying degrees of certainty
The task features two evaluation profiles: Accuracy Profile and Efficiency Profile. Data will be provided in English, German, French, and Luxembourgish.
