Notice: Heads up: This article was published more than 6 months ago. Details, links, or policies may have changed since then.

The 22nd Workshop on Multiword Expressions (MWE 2026) invites submissions on topics related to MWEs in NLP, including annotation, processing, and applications. The workshop is collocated with EACL 2026 in Rabat, Morocco.

The 22nd Workshop on Multiword Expressions (MWE 2026) is calling for papers. The workshop is organized by SIGLEX, the Special Interest Group on the Lexicon of the ACL, and UniDive Cost Action CA21167. It will be held as a half-day workshop collocated with the 19th Conference of the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (EACL 2026) in Rabat, Morocco, in a hybrid format (on-site & online).

Multiword expressions (MWEs) continue to pose challenges for Natural Language Processing (NLP). The workshop focuses on modeling and processing MWEs for NLP, covering topics such as annotation, representation, processing, discovery, and interpretation of MWEs, as well as their application in end-user applications like Machine Translation and natural language understanding.

  • Computationally-applicable theoretical work in psycholinguistics and corpus linguistics
  • Annotation and representation in resources like corpora, treebanks, and e-lexicons
  • Processing in syntactic and semantic frameworks
  • Discovery and identification methods for MWEs
  • Evaluation of annotation and processing techniques

The workshop will host two shared tasks: PARSEME 2.0 and AdMIRe 2. Submissions are invited in both archival and non-archival formats. For more details, visit the workshop website and the submission page.
