The fifth edition of the Natural Language Generation, Evaluation, and Metrics (GEM) Workshop will be held at ACL 2026 in San Diego, California, USA on July 2nd or 3rd, 2026.

We welcome submissions related to various topics, including:

  • Automatic evaluation of generation systems
  • Creating evaluation corpora and living benchmarks
  • Critiques of benchmarking efforts
  • Evaluation of cutting-edge topics in LM development
  • Multimodal evaluation across text, vision, and other modalities

A new ‘Opinion and Statement Papers Track’ is introduced for bold, thought-provoking position papers.
