JAAMAS Special Issue calls for papers on integrating Foundation Models and Multi-Agent Systems. Deadline: February 28, 2026.

A new special issue in the Journal of Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (JAAMAS) is calling for papers on the integration of Foundation Models (FMs) and Multi-Agent Systems (MASs).

The special issue seeks to explore the intersection of FMs and MASs, inviting researchers to submit original research papers, survey papers, and viewpoint papers.

  • FMs as solutions to MASs: enhancing coordination, cooperation, and learning within MASs.
  • MASs as solutions to FMs: improving FM capabilities in planning, reasoning, and decision-making.
  • Societal implications: assessing and mitigating the potential societal impacts of combining FMs with MAS technology.

Authors are encouraged to focus on the synergy between FMs and MASs, making explicit connections to existing theory and practice in MASs.
