VarDial 2026: Call for Papers – NLP for Similar Languages

VarDial 2026 invites papers on NLP for similar languages and dialects, with a shared task on dialectal Arabic language modeling.

The 3rd Call for Papers has been announced for VarDial 2026, The Thirteenth Workshop on NLP for Similar Languages, Varieties and Dialects, to be held in conjunction with EACL 2026 in Rabat, Morocco.

Topics of interest include:

• Language resources and tools for similar languages and dialects
• Cross-lingual transfer and adaptation of models
• Automatic identification of lexical variation
• Machine translation between closely-related languages
• Corpus-driven studies in dialectology

Submissions are due by December 19, 2025, and should follow the ACL Rolling Review template. More information is available on the workshop website.
