Internship on Integrating Earth Observation and Deep Learning for Food Systems Monitoring
Internship opportunity to develop machine learning models for monitoring food systems using Earth observation data and deep learning methods.
A 6-month internship is available starting February 2025 to develop machine learning approaches for analyzing food flows in Rwanda. The project aims to understand the relationship between food production locations, distribution networks, and market accessibility.
The main tasks include:
- Database integration and market mapping
- Geospatial data integration using OpenStreetMap, land cover, and Earth observation data
- Developing predictive models to estimate food item availability in specific markets
Required skills: programming, data analysis, scientific rigor, and analytical writing.
To apply, send CV, cover letter, and M1 transcript to simon.madec@cirad.fr and roberto.interdonato@cirad.fr with subject ‘CANDIDATURE STAGE DIGITAG’.
